Default I found this button

Hello All,
I found this button the other day and don't know if it's worth anything or not.
I cleaned it a bit with a soft toothbrush not wanting to damage it.
It has an eagle on the front and I can see N.Y. on the back but that's all I can make out.
Can anyone comment on this?

Thanks for looking.

ILS

Hey ILS,

Nice looking button, I don't know what it is, but would guess military. I'm sure Pappy would know. Thanks for posting it.

very nice find! I wish there was more to those old buttons, you know like dates stamped on them. I have two that I have no clue about. Congrats!
