Default Lookie what the newbie dug up!

Okay, we all know I'm a newbie - but this is about the guy that does S.E.O. research next to me, he literally started three weeks ago!! His name is Matt, and last night he rented an Excalibur 800 from Kellyco and took it to Daytona. Saw a couple of other MD'ers out and about, but he was the only one with headphones... anyway...

Here's what he found!
A few nails, a hook, a bobby pin, two pennies, some kind of crazy rusted pipe, a Casio watch (still tickin'!) and a really really really old lookin' coin, that he just thought was scrap metal at first. Now nobody around here is sure if it's real, but we've been looking online all morning and it looks like a Constantius II from 361 A.D. It's in rough shape, but the closest thing we could find online was at the link below:
Constantius II, 22 May 337 - 3 November 361 A.D.

Now I know what you're thinkin'... What was that doing on Daytona beach?! Matt says it was by the ramp, around the sand dunes, buried about 4 to 6 inches down. Obviously it's in rough shape,... maybe it's just a copy or a toy or something. Either way, it's pretty cool. And it sure did have people talkin' at work this morning!!! Anybody got any ideas about it? Seen one like it?

Maybe I'm too excited, but I think it's great how that feeling of finding something not only hits you when you dig it up, but gets passed on to everyone who touches it... it's great

So far I've found one very old license plate, a lot of nails, some funky green pennies and other misc. change.. but who's counting? I'm just here to have fun, giggle, and make friends along the way!

Very cool finds. Even if the coin turns out to be a reproduction, it's still a very neat find. That's an awesome watch, too!!! I bet that's worth a bit of $

They are neat finds, the coin looks like the one in the link.

Someone may know, but why the thought that it's a repro? Even though the link states it's rare, the price on it is only $95, so I would guess that it couldn't be that rare.

Minelab,

This is true, I guess the reason we're kinda disbelieving it is because: A. It was Matt's first time out. and B. It was on Daytona Beach of all places...

I guess I should know better than to spend time wondering how something ended up where it did,... but I can't help it! It's just crazy!

I've got plenty of clad to show! I'm thinking of taking out the Excalibur this weekend and going to the beach. The surf has been pretty rough so either no one's been there to lose anything, or some cool stuff has come up from the ocean. Either way - I'm runnin' outta yard around the house, and I'm ready to try diggin' on some beachfront property! And it helps that I work here and get to checkout whichever machine suits me...
