Default update

Have had a busy stretch, and haven't managed to do much detecting, but did add to the musketball tally, and coin count. yesterday I went by the historical society bulding in town, used to be an old church, built in the 1800s. There was a guy detecting the property. I stopped and introduced myself. He was using a borrowed machine, no digging tools. He told me he was there because early in the summer he was outside by the gazebo with his family at an event, and his son came up to him and said, "Dad, look at this neat green coin I found." It was an Indian head penny, he found right on the surface, 1800s! Needless to say, I will be going there very soon, as he had no idea what he was doing, getting signals, and just brushing the dirt with his foot, had found one dime by a bench.

Too bad you didn't get his contact info. You could have made him into a huntin' buddy. He could have learned a bunch from you

I hope you clean up there. I know you would love to find the old stuff and it sounds like it is definitely there.

Sounds like a great place, if he was finding IH's on the surface, imagine what might be buried!
