hi,
made it to the beach early on sat (10/6) and got a 1.7g 14k wedding band. Later sat morning we went up to the lake where my son lives. I got my first lake gold there - a .7g 10k earing. On sun. i tried the lake again and got 2 silver earings - 1.7g + 1.5g Mon just yielded junk earings and the usual tabs, caps, etc. today (tue) we went to see greenwich, Connecticut - a waste of time. Will be going home tomorrow + am looking forward to getting into the salt water. I have been fortunate enough to have detected 5 gold rings and 1 palladium ring (no silver or junk rings yet!) - hope the pixies don’t change their ways! Donald |

Great job on the rings! Were you hunting in the water?

4 of the rings were found in the water - the little gold band (.7g 14k) + the (1g 10k) ring with the saphire were found in the dry sand.
the thing is is that i have easily done 100x more detecting in dry sand! i will be doing more water detecting even though it is 30x harder than dry sand detecting. donald |
