Default Today's Hunt

I went to an 1887 house today in Albany. I hunted for about 2 hrs but i didnt cover all the property. it goes all the way back to a nice little creek that looks promising. i only hunted the front yard(which was about 30 ft. from the road) and about 1/3 of the backyard. In the front I got a hit and i pulled out an 1897 british penny. i thought it was a large cent at first that would have been my first one.

i also found a beautiful '61 silver dime and 13 wheaties, about 7 of them being in the same hole as the dime. also came away with a couple pieces of a buckle, some kind of molding or baking tin, a case of discarded razors, and 46 cents in clad. the wheats were: 58D,53,56D,40(2),46,3?,19,56(2),44,57D, and 18. two of them were stuck together in the same hole.

it was a really fun day and hopefully i can get back there next weekend. i have another house lined up (older than that one) where my grandfathers old secretary lives, but i dont know if ill be able to get there next weekend cause my grandfather is having a hip operation on tues. and i have a feeling hes gonna be a little nervous.

happy hunting all!

Nice finds. That British penny would have done me the same way. Hope surgery goes good.

Great Hunt Grasshopper! Sounds like a very good place to go back too and hunt.

I found a 1921 UK penny last Griday. I thought it was a seated for sure. It is still cool to find neat stuff like that, good work, Beale.
