Default A day in the park

Hi all,I been hunting a park with my buddy dan the last couple of days. This park is in the city of Oneonta N.Y. Now usualy i like to hunt in the peace and quiet of the country far away from all the noise and distractions. But my dad told me about all the silver he used to find at this park years ago so we give it a shot. The first day i found a ton of clad got discuraged and whent home,i walk in the door and Dan calls from the park to tell me he just found his first ever walking liberty half ! 1936.

So yesterday we go back for another shot.I got there before Dan and found a merc and some wheats right off.Dan showed up and was looking around an area i had just been over and pulls out a HUGE silver, gold inlay celtic ring with a blue stone. He then found 2 merc's by a tree that i had just told him was probably hit hard by my Dad years before.

I was working along when an older lady walking her poodle stopped to chat.I'm talkin to the lady and look down to see her poodle pee'in on my detector ! Then Dan had to go and i decided to work my way back to my car.I get to my car and I'm sitting there drinking some juice when a cop car comes flyin by.He had to squeez through my car and a barracade and as he did he hit a cast iron pipe that was sticking up out of the ground and busted it off.About 2 min's later another cop pulls up coming the opposite way as the first guy,so i get out and move the broken pipe so he can get through and he gets out and i tell him his buddy just hit this pipe.He says "yeah i was coming to see what happened" Then he ask's me what I'm doing there and i tell him and he says no problem and ask's me if I've seen a kid come through there. Now this park is next to 2 collages a high shool and 2 other school's.so of course i had seen about 100 kids running every wich way !

I ended up with a ton of clad, the merc, and 4 wheats. This park is loaded with clad,I found several pocket spills goin back today

Alright...so you made some good finds, did a good deed (moving the pipe) and got your detector christened! I'd say that was one heck of a day!! It'll be interesting to see if your detector works any better now LOL

Never did meet a poodle I liked...
We were working an Art Show this last summer. One rule they had for the vendors is "Leave your dogs at home."
One woman was setting up and letting her poodle run all over barking at everyone. Dog finally walked over to one of the other vendors and lifted his leg on the guys cooler and lunch..
Came close to having poodle on the bbq right about then..
Good luck today...

Thank's y'all, JC,I dont know what they were after the kid for, probably for stompin a poodle for peein on his foot or something like that. I got back today and found a 1936 Merc.and a cool sterling religous medal. No more excitment though, the park was devoid of cop's and poodles.I did get to chat to a cute young lady with a snowzer though.
