Default "Quarter back" school revisited

Hit the quarter back school and hopefully rebound from my last outing two weeks ago, which was my worse one at that school. Started out with no discrim and found an aluminum Las Vegas token that was sitting just under the grass. Then it was nothing but foil, foil and more foil then some ZLincolns *ugh*. Did manage a quarter then more foil so I gave up and set it to pull tab and cent and higher. Found a few cents here and there so I decided to discrim and dimes and higher instead. Had to find out where those quartes be! Looked around and try to think where I would hang out if I was a kid. My logic was good as I ended up with 17 quarters Also 11 dimes and just 9 cents. Besides the token I also found a .925 "St. Michael Protect Us" medal(rang up as a quarter) and a huge American Rifle Association medallion(rang up as dollar)? Thing was about 3'' down and run over a few times. In pretty bad shape but I'll try to straighten it out and clean it up a bit.

As to my 150 quarters goal for the school, I'm now sitting at 136 so I should be able to make it. As of today I have now covered most of the place but I'm sure there another 14 sitting out there somewhere. As to the other totals, a respectable 111 dimes, 17 nickels and 75 cents.

Congratulations on the nice finds, too bad about all the trash, but it seems to be worthwhile hunting for you.....Good luck and I'm sure 150 quarters will be no problem for you!

Default The 3 non-coin finds

Cheap-o aluminum Las Vegas token. I posted a link on a Las Vegas board to see if anyone could ID the reverse.

NRA plaque??? - perhaps attached to a rifle butt??? Approx 3.5'' long and 2.5'' wide. It was really bent up so I tossed it on a grill with the burners on high so I could soften it a bit before flattening it out. It was in bad shape before I deep fried it

Good 'ole school yard silver :0) Patron Saint of Police.

Smile Persistance pays!

Great hunting place you have there. Also some good detective work figuring out the best places to look. One thing about trash, once you remove it you don't have to find it again. But when working the dirt and there are cherries to pick, make life a bowl of cherries!
Good luck in finding your quota and more of quarters. You can probably keep returning to this site and find even more treasure that is now masked by trash. It should hold your interest for a long time.
Happy hunting!
