Default Detected a church dating back to the early 1800's

Church has been used as a storage facility for quite a few years, It is in a small town, but quite visible from a main road so I assumed it has been hit many times. Once I started detecting it, I knew it had been. I was finding can slaw and 70 style pull tabs and then one stinking memorial. I did manage to pull up some costume jewelery. Would have been nice to salvage a real one, or at least one in better condition. I also did someone's property(was farmland in the 1800's) that I detected before (1 war nickel was the only silver found) and again just one stinking memorial. I did find two hose nozzles they lost. That makes three total

Hey Oz,

When I saw Trifari, it rang a bell so I did a quick search and below is a blurb. I think I found something with that name a while ago, I'll have to go through my stuff and see. Yours is well worn, but looks like a neat style! Congratulations also on the war nickel!

Trifari was considered one of the largest and best known producers of costume jewelry. It started producing hair ornaments, buckles, and bar pins in silver and base metals set with rhinestones and later manufactured, a broad range of costume jewelry creating superb designs and workmanship at different price levels. The Trifari jewelry produced had a distinctive look, resembling fine jewelry, which can easily be recognized by collectors. Much of this is due to the work of a great designer, Alfred Philippe, who worked and designed jewelry for Trifari, for approximately 38 years, from 1930 to 1968, using high quality imported Swarovski rhinestones that were hand-set in the jewelry piece.

Default Right stuff!

Yer doin' all the right stuff. Bound to be some treasure in your future. I forgot to include a hose nozzle in my finds for Friday. I forgot about it until you mentioned it in this thread. Mine was at the beach.

I had a similar experience yesterday Oz. Went to a home built in 1850's that I was sure had not been detected before because it is so out of the way but only found 2 wheats and a few memorials from 60's. But at least we got out. HH

If other MD'ers have hit the area before you - it doesn't mean it won't be worthwhile for you - just a little more difficult...which will make the finds all that more satisfying!
