Default 1914 D penny and more of todays finds

A key date but in terrible shape. It took 10 power to read it. could not get the date to show up with the camera. Also a nice 1940 D mercury dime.(my second mercury) and what I think might have been a ring.
the reason I say that is when I was about 10 I sprained my finger and it swelled up before I took off a ring my Dad had made for me. It had to be cut off. It looks like it may have been cut and flattened. It has coin engraved on the inside and looks old. If anyone knows what it is let me know. its small but heavy. Good day hunting.

Hi Kent,

Awesome finds, you’re a real treasure huntin animal!

How long have you been in the hobby? What type of detector do you swing? What part of S. LA. are you from?

Thanks,
Dave

Thanks Dave

I work sometimes 10 to 15 12 hr. days or nights in a row so when I get off and finally get caught up around the house I'm detecting.
I only started 7 months ago with an Ace 250. A wonderful machine and paid for itself in clad in 3 months but lacked the depth I needed for South Louisiana's soft sinking soil. I now have an x-terra 70 that I still have a lot to learn about, but is proving to go deep for the older coins. Good luck hunting.

I agree with Dave that it might be coin silver. Nice hunt!
