Default Ring and an Earring

Hello All,
Went to my dependable park today and found the usual clad plus this nice ring and earring.
The earring was shallow and it's really shiny but there aren't any markings. Might be gold, might not. The ring was about 1.5" and is in really good shape. I can see S-3 stamped on the inside but I don't know what that means. Any help identifying it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for looking.

ILS

I think I see markings on the hook part that goes thru the ear. That is where the gold earring I found was marked.

I'm not sure about those markings, but it looks just like a few silver rings my boyfriend wears. Very cool!

So far I've found one very old license plate, a lot of nails, some funky green pennies and other misc. change.. but who's counting? I'm just here to have fun, giggle, and make friends along the way!

Hey ILS, if you're talking about the marks in the close-up, it looks to me like it read 925 before all the wear, which means 92.5% Silver.

Nice finds!

I think farmall is right. Looks like there's a mark on the hook. As faras the S-3 marking on the ring...looking around the web, S-3 seems to be a designation for silver wire. While I cannot see the detail on your ring, it appears that it is a bent and soldered wire design. Maybe that's the reference. Minelabman might be right too so it will need further investigation.
