here are some past finds from this summer also these little gold coins , bought em for 5 bucks any body know anything about them ?

Default Better pic?

Dave, think we could have a better picture of the reverse? I've tried edge enhancement and everything but can't pull them out. The obverse doesn't look "real" for anything but a token. But I will look around if I have a better picture.
Today I found a quarter sized "gold" coin. It really made my heart go pitty pat until I picked it out of the basket. It was way too light! Turned out it was foil over bubble gum.

Your coins definitely look better than that!

Hi dave, those look like California fractional gold coins. There are a lot of copys and fakes out there. Google california fractional gold coins and see if you can find out what the weight should be for each coin. If the weight and size are right then they are probably real.

Nice stuff anyway!!!!
