Arrow Neat 925 silver ring

After impatiently dealing with contractors and the like yesterday , I finally got to get out again today and hunt.
I started at Salt Creek Beach Park to check the areas north and south of the main activity. As expected, these areas yielded very little, and what they did yield was very disappointing. There was far too much sand to do a grid search, so I had to read the signs to figure out where treasure might be. I was successful many times, but the yield was a few pennies or dimes. The best hole had 2 dimes, 3 pennies and 1 nickel. I put in 3 hours then took a lunch break.
After lunch I went to San Clemente Pier. I started the search further north than I have ever been before, with no luck. I moved closer to the pier (still north) and the standard coil was useless because of all the old rusted metal in the sand. I switched to the sniper and the MD settled down. I told my wife it is like running between raindrops and not getting wet - I can sweep the coil between the hidden nails and find the treasures. She has to believe me. It really does seem that way though. Switching coils goes from a constant barrage of signals to quiet with a few hits.
Very soon I got some hits that said quarters - they turned out to be pull tabs. Then I got some hits that said pull tabs, they turned out to be quarters. I don't know why my MD started pulling my leg today, but since I dig everything anyway it doesn't matter that much.
A little later I got a signal and the display said pull tab, from the sound I knew better and guessed quarter. It turned out to be a badly darkened ring. Closer examination revealed the 925 mark. When I got it home It cleaned up very well and is a really nice "dainty" ring. I am not sure of the significance of the "CTR". Initials or organization?? But it is really well made. I was surprised of the detail behind the letters - I only saw it after taking the picture.
So for the day I found 6 quarters, 10 dimes, 5 nickels, 20 pennies, the silver ring, a blue plastic pirate, a nice looking duck model (why at the beach?), a shark car from Matel and a fancy cork screw made in France.
The oddest thing I found today was a cash register receipt from Pier 1 Imports in Fort Worth Texas (on the beach at Salt Creek Beach Park, CA). Being here was odd enough, but everything on the receipt was in either French or Spanish, nothing English.
I found parking near a "foot-only" access to the beach on the Coast Highway. I have been looking for a way to get to this beach for a while. Although there doesn't seem to be any activity now. There is a large beach playground for kids, a school nearby and lots of housing. Hopefully there hasn't been any MDing there since summer. I probably won't get to try it out before Tuesday because of appointments I have to keep.
Happy hunting to all!

So far I've found one very old license plate, a lot of nails, some funky green pennies and other misc. change.. but who's counting? I'm just here to have fun, giggle, and make friends along the way!
