Default Found a "Whatsit"

If anyone can identify this thing, I'd sure like to know what it is.
Found it at 2" , read as a quarter, looks like copper. Has Reliance on one side and 216E on the other and it's ~ 2.25 inches long.
The park where I found it has three soccer fields, two major baseball fields and is next to a golf course.
I'm someone knows exactly what this thing is but I'm stumped.
Thanks,
ILS

Default Grounding Clamp

It is a Grounding Clamp for a Reliance (Bodine) 24A4BEAM-3F 250RPM 130V 0.48A Electric Motor.

P.S. It's the only Reliance motor that had 216E stamped on it. Orig. made in China by Bodine.

I am guessing that it is a shoeing Spacer. For shoeing Horses. Looks similar anyway. I agree Pappy knows best. Arkwater is also an encyclopedia. Good luck and nice find
