Exclamation EXTRA! Silver Dimes!

Yesterday evening I posted "Found, 1 Forint" thinking I had all the important news from my hunt yesterday. This morning when I looked at the coins from the tumbler I found fantastic news!:christmaswreath:
Two of the dimes I found were Roosevelt silver dimes. One was a 1948-D and the other was a 1964-D. The 1948 is worn considerably, the 1964 is in very good condition - except for the heavy coating of minerals from being buried so long in salt-water/sand.
I had to rack my memory to figure out when I picked up the two silver coins. Now I am sure it was the same as where I found the 1 Forint coin, below the "cliffs" of beach erosion. That makes sense in a way. Silver coins would be buried deeper than current clad, and could be brought closer to the surface if the surface was eroded away.
The promised rain is much lighter than forecast. It has stopped during the morning. I don't see any more on the radar. So I am heading back to the beach to see about looking for more silver. :grinningelf:
I was wearing my lucky hat and carrying the "new" watch ring which I will repeat today - can't fight success!
{Pris, the main reason I have been looking forward to hunting in dirt is because of the probability of finding old coins - and the purchase of a hand held pinpointer. I would have thought finds at the beaches would dwindle. I didn't suspect the changes brought by winter storms. Luv dem beaches!}
Happy hunting!:snowman:

So far I've found one very old license plate, a lot of nails, some funky green pennies and other misc. change.. but who's counting? I'm just here to have fun, giggle, and make friends along the way!

Nice going John, like Beale said about silver coins being hard to find anytime. I don't know about CA, but here on the east coast beaches I've never found any, I was surprised this past September when I found 2 wheaties.

As methodical and persistent as you are, I wouldn't be surprised if you hit it big sometime soon. Good Luck!

Congrats on the silver dime s find. All my silver dimes have been on the beach all except one. I found a 1863 rosie at a school lot. Found a 1946 and a 1948 rosie, and 3 merc dimes. Hope you find many more, they are there.
