Don't feel bad, it was a nice find. The pic of the ring I posted in "just catching up" thread I thought for sure was diamonds. I was hootin' and hollerin' and telling everyone I had struck it rich. Then I took it to a jeweler and he said although it is a silver setting, the rocks are probably white sapphire
 worth no more than $50.

Been there, done that. I have a couple of finds that I was so sure were the real thing and ended up being plated. Happens to all of us GG. Makes for a good story down the road.....

Ditto on what others have said. But I've learned that sometimes the thrill of the find is perhaps worth more (as in this case) than the actual find. Don't tell me your heart didn't leap and visions of sugar plums didn't dance in your head when you saw that ring. Remember and enjoy in that feeling. There are many that will never come as close as you did. I still belive it is an awesome find. Just think, somewhere out there is a mega-carat very heavy platinum engagement ring and I challenge you to find it before I do.

aaaawwww GG.... never a fool girl! That is one beautiful ring, no matter what. Besides, none of us could tell the ring was not real, right? Never know till you get it checked out!
