The nickle is very unique. I know I do not know about the paint, Beale.

Nice...I'd keep the nickel the way it is. Just finding something different or unique makes for more of a conversation piece and makes the hunt special.

its good to get out and swing a bit,dought that we get many more days like today it was nice 60s,Rip i think that it is enamel paint ,guy give it to me said he tried to scape it off (glad he didnt) think it was out of someones collection and drilled for a necklace .good luck on you hobos...hh creek

Congratulations on finding silver.
The nickel raises a flag for me. I seem to remember sometime in the past that some Indian head nickels were offered for sale that were enameled. I've been scratching my head trying to remember when it was. Seems like in the last 20 years. They did not have the hole drilled in them, though. Maybe one of the other TQers can remember. I think it was offered to me as part of a promotion that came with my credit card bill. I wouldn't buy one, but would love to find one! Much more value in that! ![]() Thanks for the pics and post.
