Default 12/20 hunt with CanUDigIt

Haven't been on much lately, bought a new laptop, transferred all my settings and set it up on the office network only to have it crap out. Dell will be sending a replacement out, so I'll get to do it all again.

Anyway, got out with CanUDigIt last Thursday to a park that he did a great job of researching. It was a rainy day, but we managed to detect about 4 hours in the drizzle, I found a large cent, a half cent and I believe a 1909 wheatie along with 17 cents in clad and some trash. I'm not sure of any of the coins as they are in rough condition. I was able to read the 19 on the wheatie and am pretty sure the 3rd letter is a 0, so it would have to be a 1909. The large and half cents aren't as good and after a peroxide (thanks Rip, didn't realize it was so effective) treatment, I could just barely make out some outlines. I will try to remember to post pictures in about a month, as all are soaking in olive oil right now and probably will be for that long.

I'll let CanUDigIt tell you about the nice silver coin he found and the great condition it was in!

It was a good day in spite of the rain, I got to meet and hunt with a fellow TQ'r, made a friend, found some old coins and got a free breakfast. We're planning to hit the park again soon and this time breakfast is on me!

Great job on the wheatie. Good to see you stuck it out even if it did rain! Meeting another TQ'er is even better!

Smile Great hunt!

Sounds like you had a great hunt and some nice old coins. The research really paid off. Also nice to hear you were able to link up with another THer.
Sorry to hear about the Dell. That can really suck when you put that much work into getting it online only to have to crap out. At least you have some practice for the next one.
Happy hunting
