Talking Three neat finds!

Today I headed out for Laguna Beach, mostly to check to see how the sand erosion is going. During the winter months the sand on the north end of the beach erodes leaving a rock surface. I am hoping to catch it in this condition and at low tide. Several of the rocks are visible today, but it isn't quite there yet.
I headed out to the south doing a quick scan along the erosion line until I reached the place I had left off during my last visit to Laguna. I found almost nothing (or so I thought). Mostly just really messed up zinc pennies. I bumped into a woman and her two kids, a boy and a girl. The kids both had metal detectors. The boy had a new Bounty Hunter he got for Christmas. They were digging deep in the sand around an aluminum runner of a lifeguard station. I stopped and chatted a bit and wished them well.
I continued on along the beach, mostly at the erosion line. For some areas that looked promising up close to the cliff I would climb up to the dry sand. In one place above the dry sand was a little dirt where it looked like it would provide shelter from the sun or rain. I found a couple of coins just below the surface (the dirt was only about 1/2 inch over rock).
I turned around at a point where the rocks from the cliff above extended well into the water. I could have climbed over them, but I had to get back to the north end of the beach because the parking meter was running out.
On the way back to main beach I went further into the wet sand and found a few more pennies.
Back at main beach I estimated that I had enough time to scan along the boardwalk on the way back to the car. Very soon I ran into a nice pocket spill. A little further down I found a token from Boomers! I saw evidence that someone had been digging along the boardwalk. It was also evident they weren't familiar with the area. Most of the places were on crossbeams under the sand with large iron bolts. I covered the holes and continued scanning. I found some nickels and dimes along the way.
When I got to the white stone lifeguard station I diverted and searched for the area where I had seen folding chairs set up. I found the area, but nothing had been dropped. Something pulled me to the side and I followed my intuition. I got a heavy hit, scooped and found a Washington Dollar. It is in really good condition with the lettering around the edge clearly visible.
By this time the tide was somewhat closer to low, so I went north to the tidepool area to check on the condition of the rocks. Then on to home.
When I got home I realized that one of the dimes I found was a silver Roosevelt. It has some pitting and one of the pits covers the numbers after "19". However, looking at the edge it is clear there is no copper core and luckily it is a mint mark "D" and the mint mark is on the reverse.
I looked up Boomers on the internet and found there is one in Irvine, just down the road from me - the token is worth about $1 in trade at the facility.
So, for the day I found 1 silver dime, 1 Washington dollar, 1 Boomers token, 4 quarters, 8 dimes, 6 nickels and 30 pennies. The total clad count is now at $379.25 - $20.75 short of my arbitrary goal.

The clad sure adds up fast doesn't it. I love those tokens. I was finding a lot of the Freedom Tokens on the beach here. Gave me a heart attack the first time one came up. It was so shiny and gold. The guy that runs the arcade told me I could use them anytime, so who knows, maybe soon. HH!! Hope you get to your goal soon.

Ooo! We have Boomer's here in Florida - South Florida to be specific. It's like a giant (and I mean GIANT) arcade with go-carts and roller coasters and everything inbetween. I wonder if your Boomers is the same!

WTG on the silver dime!!! That's awesome!! I have faith that you can make your clad count goal if you keep busy over the weekend - GOODLUCK!!

So far I've found one very old license plate, a lot of nails, some funky green pennies and other misc. change.. but who's counting? I'm just here to have fun, giggle, and make friends along the way!

Great Finds John!!! I'm always glad to hear how well you are doing on the beach. Tokens are pretty neat, if ya ask me. I'm still not having too much success on the beach here and so many people want to stop ya and chat and ask "are you finding anything"? Then they wanna know if those tectors really pick up anything and how much do they cost.. etc.... I don't know how many people I told about Kellyco and TQ yesterday but it was alot.

One of these days I will have more success. John, do you dig targets below the 5 cents target? My experience so far is if I do, it's always trash!! Other than that, I am digging using the settings it came with by default. Am I doing something wrong? I'm in All Metal Mode
