Smile $1.61 in clad

Today I was hoping the indications I got the the dry sand by the boardwalk at Laguna would hold for more of the dry sand. It didn't. I spent 3 hours gridding away. The finds included 4 quarters, 2 dimes, 4 nickels and 21 pennies. On the up side, only one of the coins will have to be tumbled - most looked like they had just fallen out of a pocket. I also found one plastic soldier - never leave the troops in the field!
Trash was plentiful. I filled two bags. At one location I skipped an area where some people were picking up and leaving. When they left I scanned the area and found 1 broken plastic pail, 4 crushed beer cans under the sand and lots of bits of foil gum wrappers. No treasure.
There doesn't seem to be many people at the beaches and only a small percentage lose things. I am going to have to try for more sand movement and rocky areas that have been eroded.
Another possibility is cruising around looking for likely spots such as playgrounds and ball fields. The clad count stands at $380.76. I sure would like to see an even $400 for this year (since 15 June).
Happy hunting to all!

Still 3 days left to reach $400, I say you can do it! Good Luck!

If you don't make it in clad, you've probably already made it in aluminum scrap value from all those cans and foil you pick up .

You can do it!! The clad adds up fast. I need to find some different places to hunt, starting on some research. Good luck getting to your goal.
