Default Clad count for the past two weekends

I've been hunting an old school again over the past couple of weekends. The original school burned down in 1937 and they rebuilt shortly after. They've built an elementery on adjoining property. I've managed to pull lots of clad out of the ground but STILL no silver or wheaties or jewelry. I just don't get it, this is an OLD school. I've found numerous quarters/dimes mid to late 60's and one '59 penny...and they were pretty deep (5-6 inches). It's like noone in this town had any money pre '65 I figured the place has been "cherry picked" but that doesn't explain why I'm not finding any wheaties.

Total clad count over the past couple of weekends:

1 bicentineal half dollar
56 quarters
52 dimes
14 nickels (one dated 1946)
46 pennies
1 King George Canadian penny 1942

Hey Padmaster that is some good hunting! I do know what you mean about the silver and wheats. They both seem to be scarce. When I was home I found 6 wheaties in my brothers yard. No silver, nothing really else good.

Just keep hitting it, you will get a silver soon, Beale.

Smile Great clad count

That is a lot of clad. My guess is that someone must have been hitting the school grounds hard in the late 60s. But you can always hope they missed some. You are getting a good clad count out of it.
Happy hunting

I've had the same thing happening...BUT clad is clad - and I just cashed-in about $200.00 worth of it (not ALL was dug) to use for walking around money when Peg and I take our anniversary trip to Palm Springs at the end of the month!
