The penny is a solid (no zinc core) memorial and I have no ideas about the token. Usually there is some sort of identification, with none it is hard to find. It does look like something from the USA though, like the penny.
Neat finds - like the English pence I have found on California beaches.

Hi Everyone, The token you found is called a Freedom Token. You can use them at an arcade, and there is several different ones. I found a bunch of them on the beach last summer. The guy who runs the arcade said I could use them anytime I wanted too. He is also a detectorist. Hope this helps some. The first time I pulled one out I almost had a heart attack because it was gold colored, thought I found a gold coin, lol!!
