Default First school playground visit

I took my first trip to a school to hunt with my Ace 250. I headed to the playground, which was covered in that shredded rubber material, which is very easy to dig in. In about two minutes I hit a spot where someone lost 5 dimes, a nickel, and a cent. Found a few more clad for a total of 68 cents, plus a zipper and a Hello Kitty bracelet charm. Then it was too dark for me to continue.

Earlier in the day, horsing around, I found a pink diecast car in my back yard, as well as the very rusted/corroded remains of tin cans 5-6 inches down. The car is recent, lost since my house was built (1978), but the cans and a few other things I found make me wonder if they were lost in the field there before the house was built, or carried there with fill dirt?

Today at lunch I went to a park and found plenty of bottle caps and pieces of aluminum can that had obviously been shredded by a lawn mower. I’m really learning how evil pull tabs are.

I’m getting a little better at pinpointing, and digging holes.

Smile WTG - good hunting

You are doin' good. It is really neat to find a "spill" of several coins. Pull tabs are a nuisance - but rings will show up as pull tabs on the display. Getting the hit is almost as good as finding a ring. It is a ring until you dig.
Gotta love that ACE 250 - it is a great coin magnet (and rings too, gold and silver).
Good luck and happy hunting
