Default First Indian Head Cent

I have been working a new area since the fifth. It is open field where a house used to be. Been Hunting 30 minutes to a couple hours at the time. Been pulling a couple or three wheats each time plus other assorted items to include a couple of WWII buttons and buckles and such. My first day there found a wheat and then got a hit that was good. Raked away some leaves with my foot and on top of the ground was a 1917 Merc. only silver there so far. I hunted for about an hour and a half this morn. Found assorted trash and relics and then found my first Indian Head cent-1903. She had a rough time in the past though. I also found a button I need help on the ID. I have cleaned some and have been able to make out a little of it. There is an 'N' followed by an '&' and I can't make out what the other letter might be. If anyone has any ideas let me know. Happy Hunting all.

Congratulations on the first IH and may there be many more ... sounds like a great site that you're hunting (that type of site has become my favorite spot to hunt) ... wishing you continued success ... Jimmy!

Congrats on the finds but I got that sinking feeling while reading your post.....and caught that folded coin in the pic. lol, I said a prayer ("don't let that be it"). I found my 1st this week too, so I know the feeling. Hope your next one is intact.
