Default First silver of the year

I've been out hunting a few times this month and I've had good luck findin a few "wheaties" but no silver. This mornin I sold a coondog for a rather large sum of money and on a whim I went over to my local dealer and bought a new White's MXT. WOW, I went to a old schoolhouse that is now a church. I have hunted this church before but don't remember finding anything but clad. The first coin was a zinc penny right under the grass and then......... My second coin was a wheatie that was back under a concrete sidewalk. My third was a Buffalo nickel that happens to be the only one I've ever dug. 3 more wheaties( 2 of these wheaties was 7 in. deep which happens to be the deepest coins I've ever dug) Then BAM a 1947 rosie next to a monster oak tree. Man I can't believe this machine. I'm all jacked up but its gettin late and I promised Momma that I would take her out to eat tonite. On the way home Momma calls and ask's how's it going and I start tellin her bout my great finds. She then breaks in and wants to know how I'm popping all these coins when she's sitting here looking at the DFX laying on the living room floor. I'm busted, Momma's gunna have a great time tonite. No Big Mac's for her. She's eating steak tonite. You DFX users dont get your panties in a wad here. I still love my DFX but it is goin on the shelf for a little while till the shine wears off my new toy. I love this new MXT,it is so powerful and easy to use.

The DFX is a great machine, but sometimes I get caught up trying to program it with differt programs I see on these forums,And I end up spending more time doing that than hunting. The MXT I just turned on and started hunting. It was so easy and it really seemed to grab them coins. After the second coin I felt like I had a "feel" for coins, even the deep ones which I didnt have with the DFX. I can't wait to have a full day to hunt half day with the MXT and then go back over it with the DFX. I'm not getting rid of the DFX thats for sure. To answer your question rob, right now I like the MXT best but its also a new toy.......

I have to work today and its gunna kill me knowing its sitting at home while I drive round all day

I really enjoyed reading this Gary, seems you and the MXT had a good feel for one another and I bet Mamma is happy to after that steak dinner

Some times we get caught up in the bells & whistles on the higher priced detectors and I certainly have but once they are understood they can be deadly on coins
I bet you will enjoy the MXT for its simplified use and that means more detecting for you!

Thanks guys,

I got to go bout a hour yesterday after work, went to an old school that has just been pounded hard over the years but I was feeling cocky with my new toy and all. All I could come up with was a few clad and one old "wheatie" A 1939 model,I really though that was pretty good for as hard as this place has been hunted. Don't know when I'll get to go again but this mornin in church I got permission to hunt an old,old church grounds that the church was torn down when I was a kid. I'm jacked up again, maybe I woun't have no work tomorrow.
Thanks again
