You are doing very well. I guess those things don't eat pennies....

JC - no, no they do not! The majority of the coins I find in and around parking meters are pennies, oddly enough... I guess the person is rummaging around in their hand or in a pocket for clad, and if a penny falls on the ground, oh well.... they're annoying to keep retrieving one after another, but they add up!

Smile Luv them meters

It is amazing how much can be found under the meters in dirt. It doesn't seem to matter if it is dirt only or covered with grass.
Hunting under meters in the dirt is a sure way to get a big coin count - albeit mostly pennies. Really great pinpointing practice.

JCWHITE & PortraitArtist - only quarters are usable in meters around here. I think that when people dig for change they may accidentally drop quarters, dimes or nickels. But I find sooooo many pennies that I think they must just throw down any pennies they have in their pockets.

Happy hunting - keep an eye out for meters in dirt.
