Default My (hopefully) Daily Blog

2/27 - Went out today after dropping my kiddo off... had the whole day to myself... hunted for almost six hours, made two 50's schools...

Ended up finding a total of 96 coins... $5.28 total... did find four wheaties, though... I was in the right spot, just didn't walk over it, I guess...

And I also managed to find a couple of silver trinkets - one is a charm-looking pendant thing, and the other looks to have come from a rosary... I can't tell for certain if it's .925 or plated - it doesn't feel quite heavy enough, and it doesn't have .925 on it, but I could be wrong...

But overall, I had a great day - got lots of sunshine, fresh air, and exercise, talked to some nice older men, smelled some great bar-b-que coming from someone's bbq pit, got some nice smiles from strangers, heard the birds sing...and I felt like I did 20 years ago!

More to come tomorrow, hopefully!

Default Broke the dry spell!

Went out this morning about 7:30, hunted until about 1:30... hit the spot I was watching - no go there... few clads...

Decided to just go poking around the backstreets and seein' what I could find... hit some easements, a vacant lot or 2... few more clad, maybe a wheat or 2... looking up...

Ended up at a vacant lot somewhere in the 'hood, next to the State cemetary... saw the sidewalk leading to nowhere - I felt good about this one... right off the bat I started finding wheaties... and then about 20 minutes into it, nice signal... cut a plug from that rich, old, black dirt... got a signal in the plug - grabbed about half of it off and there in the smack dab middle of the plug was the unmistakable outline of a quarter... 1957 Washington, just as shiny as the day it was dropped! Man, I love seeing those silver coins in the dirt like that...

Anyways, another hour or so, a few more coins, few more wheats, no more silver - but what a great day! Six hours of uninterrupted bliss!

More to come...

Default 3/4 Had a decent hunt

Hunted down the sidewalk next to an old golf course for a couple of hours... picked up $2.08... 5 quarters... 3 wheats, one 1916... asked permission to hunt on the golf course - will find out tomorrow - I hope I do, because it has been around since before the turn of the century...

Default 3/5 What a Day! Hancock Golf Course :spin:

Well, I just flew in from hunting, and And BOY are my arms tired!

I got permission to search around the golf course!

Hunted for about 6 hours... ended up with 133 coins! 72 pennies (some wheats, not sure how many)... 32 dimes (no silver this time)... 1 nickle... and 25 quarters! with 2 silver (43 & 44)... and, get this, 3 Saqajawea dollar coins!

Plus I found 2 very pretty little silver rings (see below). One I think has a garnet stone in it...

$13.22 total! My best ever total for one day! Now, if my girlfriend will let me go again tomorrow.........
