Smile Finally back to hunt

I had to take some time off hunting for a few days. I promised to do some writing for a company I used to work for. As a result I now have a high speed connection on the internet.
I did have digital TV for the weekend, but that died overnight. The picture was good, but I am not impressed with equipment that only works for two days.
Today I just had to get out. I couldn't go far because I have to be here for the technician when he shows up. I decided on Laguna Beach. I did the usual scan down the boardwalk with no results other than a little trash.
I went up by the tidepools and found an old pair of wire rim glasses, without any lenses, and a belt buckle that said "Matrix" on it. I went back to the Main Beach area and did a little zig zagging. I picked up a few coins.
Next I cruised around Laguna looking for parking meters that were partially or fully mounted in dirt. These are away from the normal tourist parking so I didn't expect much. I would find a parking strip in dirt, go in away from coast highway for free parking, and hunt the dirt.
I got about what I expected, a couple of pennies, a dime and some foil. I also found an extremely high population ant colony. They were mightily p.o.'d that I disturbed their nest. They had built it around some kind of foil - probably candy.
The weather is nice and sunny so it was really nice to get out. It's too bad that I didn't find anything spectacular, but it is still off season for tourists around here.
I was surprised by Laguna though. The sand was really clean. There was very little metal trash or foil, no jewelry and very few coins. I did see another MDer out there today, but he never got close enough to talk to. I do meet and talk with other MDers at Laguna. I have gotten a lot of them interested in hunting. They seem to be doing a great job of it!
My clad finds for the day included 7 quarters, 6 dimes, 1 nickel and 13 pennies. One memorial cent I found under a parking meter has been worn almost completely smooth.
I sure am anxious for summer to get here. I can get to the beach at 05:00 and be gone by 08:00 when most of the rest of the MDers show up. I also look forward to finding out how the other beaches around me are used.
Happy hunting to all!

I know what you mean about the electronics, recently bought 2 new computers and the laptop has been replaced twice and the desktop is being replaced

Anyway, still good that you were able to get out and make some finds. Soon the tourists will arrive to replenish the beaches .
