Default Feelin bummed today

Went back out to the golf course... hunted for 2 or 3 hours... somehow, it seemed like a diff. place... hardly found anything worth my time...

was I maybe jaded from my Saturday hunt? Somehow my head just wasn't in it... there HAS to be more stuff there... anyway, I was just wondering if anyone else has had something like that happen...

I want to go back again, but I'm afraid I just won't have the confidence to do well... am I just being too hard on myself?

Never give up. I've had days of busting through frost and only dug 6 holes and my best find was a pull tab. I've wasted more gas and batteries then I've pulled money out of the ground to replace. In 3 years I've dug close to 150lbs of nails 1 by 1, but I'm getting better. Don't count on just that site to constently provide you with treasure. Like Pappy says "RESEARCH RESEARCH RESEARCH, IT'S THE LIFE'S BLOOD OF TREASURE HUNTING." You got a site that's in the 1800's well it's probably not the oldest site or best site around. I've hunted 2 beaches for 3 years and the first year pulled 13 rings in the past two i've been scratching my head. I may have done a thoural job of cleaning the beach and I'll go back again, but I'm waiting for the people to put some more jewelry back out there. In the meantime I'm confused on where to go because I have so many choices. I won't stop there though, I'm gonna keep researching until they put my in the ground. I recently found a site (that i can't gain permission too yet) that pre-dates the town by 30+years. You're not doing anything wrong if your finding rings and coin. You just had a bad day. We've all been there and will be there again. Don't be so hard on yourself and keep looking. Jason

Default Bummed

PORTRAITARTIST, DON'T GET BUMMED..IT HAPPENS TO ALL OF US. When you get to your hunting site utilize the first 15 minutes relaxing. Just put your head back, close your eyes and put yourself in the right frame of mind..THEN..GO GET EM !! Take a break (I do 15 Mins.) all during the trip at different times and you will see a GREAT IMPROVEMENT....PAPPY

Default Well me bouy!

From the land of the Bluenose...dig and they will come. In 30 years of detecting have never been skunked but came away with one coin or relic many a times after hunts that lasted up to 14 hours.

So many variablies while detecting such as speed of coil swing, battery strength and how wet the soil is. Never give up me bouy as it's only a hobby. Look on the bright side ...you got out, swung a coil and saw the world and are still alive to share your experience with us (hopefully a Bud too)!

Dig.and they will come.

Swing low, swing slow and dig deep. Anxious to hear about your next outing!
