Default well, well...lookie here...

well you guys i did it...i found a nugget. and on my first real attempt, nonetheless!!! my aching back!!! i know i know...the picture quality is bad...but this tiny piece of gold is about the size of a needle head! if there is a way i can get a better pic that im unaware of please let me know. i found it up in ash canyon in one of two buckets of creek gravel i brought home and put through the sluice. it's true what they say about gold being where you find it...and also that you know it when you see it in the pan. i was getting ready to transfer what i had in fines/black sands to the bucket and twirled the water around a bit when there it sparkled a little in the sun and held it's ground when the next tiny wave of water rushed over it. there it sat next to a small rivelet of black sand in the stainless steel bottom. my heart leaped...my eyes widened...lordy ,lordy , guess who's hooked! p.s. the coin showed for scale is a dime...and the nugget is not perfectly round as the picture would have you think p.p.s. gordiesgirl this one is for you ! thanks to all for support

Congratulations on finding gold! I'm sure there is more where that came from.

That's really awesome that you found gold. I bet that was alot of fun. My husband and I have talked about doing that for a while now. Hopefully someday we will. Thanks for sharing your neat find with us!

Thumbs up I think it needs some company.......

I bet you're gonna be out there real soon looking for some friends so it doesn't get lonely.
A couple of those and your sluice will be paid for then it'll be time to get a pump,or a machine that'll work dry dirt so you can work it while in the field. It's a never ending vicious circle...dont'cha just love it!!!!

Default i love it i do...

yeah i'm so hooked now that im in the net and floppin' on the bow...lol i actually brought my father-in-law up there with me today and he (i hope)is feelin' it too . he has tomorrow off from home depot and is talking about going up and getting more material tomorrow. i hear what you're sayin' about getting this thing paid for and going with a dry sluice set-up. i cant go through water like i did today every time i do this, thats for sure. the canyon i was in is dry but there is another...bigger canyon which has water running in it that i can set up properly in. i'm still jazzed!!
