Piercing in order after today's dig

From the land of the Bluenose.....well converting over time hours into regular hours plus the regular shifts I've had from this week it turned out to be 84 hours. Must say I'll not do that again for a while. Things we do for that extra week south!

Had a half day off today so decided that I'd wear myself out to get in line with going back to day shifts (0500-1700)and what better way then going a digging on a nice subzero day on the tundra so it was off to a local schoolyard that seems to thaw out quickly. After three days straight days of rain and above zero temperatures the field was actually quite easy to dig. Mind you had some snow flurries and a blistering nor'wester a blowing but what the halibut it was great just to be out and not working.

Wandered around aimlessly swinging at a super slow pace as the energy level was at rock bottom with a few coins falling under the coil. About the third hit was a coin with a square hole in the middle and by the look of the lettering, Oriental of some extraction.

Took a break to get my second wind but only managed wind and a quarter and swung again for another half hour with all my "assets" slowing entering the deep freeze zone.

Disliked to admit it but didn't have much stamina on this dig and headed back to Otto along the way picking up not one but a pair of kids earings with hanging stars on them. Reminded me of an old poster I used to hang in my classroom; "Shoot for the moon for even if you miss you will end up in the stars." Not this bouy I was heading to Tim's for a coffee and then home to thaw out. Of course arriving at the "roll up the rim to win" I noticed that this numb skull had forgotten to take his wallet. So goes the best laid plans of mice and men!

Got home and fiddled with the new Olympus Master program for my photos and lost everything I shot so not many photos with this post.

Take for the day was a pair of earings, a foreign coin and 17 coins @ 87 cents....not even enough for a small joe!
