Default Detecting in Louisville, KY Metro Parks

I wasn't sure where to post this but I thought this category would get the most views. Recently there has been one over zealous parks employee running detector hobbiests out of the metro parks.
We have been in touch with the parks information officer and our city council members and have verified there is no restriction to the general use of detectors, however, they are interpreting the regulations to suit the moment.
The city ordinance clearly states no "natural resources, plant or animal" can be removed. Coins or jewelry certainly don't fit that description. Please be sure to fill all holes and ask others to do so if you see any not doing so and please be polite as possible to the parks people, even if they are wrong, and I would suggest keeping a copy of the regulations (available through the parks website) in your vehicle to cover yourself.
