Default Went To Hardy

Went to Hardy today and spent about 4 hours. Its a long drive when you spend 3/4 of your trip driving 15 miles of dirt roads. The old town is about 1/2 to 3/4 of a mile long and there aren't any buildings left. The school shut down in the early 40's, and is at the east end. I hunted the west end due to linemen setting poles on the east side and running more power to the ranch. Next time I go I need to locate an old street map to see more of the layout. I didn't find any coins (Yet) but dug a lot of trash with the F-2 using the 8" coil. I set the sensitivity to its lowest setting and was finding old copper fittings about the size of a dime at 6 inches and deeper. The F-2 Shoots really deep. Also found a spoon about 8" deep. Looks to be a childs spoon about 6" long. It needs more cleaning but stamped either pat.1801 or 1901 hard to tell, also stamped solid egyptian (looks like "metal") what ever that is. So I didn't get skunked today.

Congratulations Sarge, I know what you mean about dirt roads making the ride alot longer, but they usually lead to interesting places.

Cool spoon, looks like whoever use it really chomped down on it .
