Default I found Jesus

I knew it would happen sooner or later...

I snuck out early from work and managed to fit in an hour or so hunting the old ballfield I've hunted before... I was right - there is a whole other level of stuff out there... I found a couple of 64 pennies down at least 6", and I got a couple other signals that almost made me have to change my pants - turned out to be a grommetand a couple of pieces of deep can slaw...

But one of them wasn't... got that sweet little broken whisper that I know is a deep target...

(now, something peculiar about the 1266, if a gold/nickel object is discriminated out, it will not hit from the surface down to about 2", but down at about 6", it gives me a really sweet whisper - is this the same with other machines?)

So, I got the plug out and the signal was still in the hole... it also got 100% better (which is also something I've learned to look for in a good target)... started going thru the dirt and I got a somewhat broken signal, but I knew it was a reasonably-sized target... got down to one little clod and I saw what looked like the top of a pendant... it turned out to be a crucifix with the head of Jesus on it, and from the broken signal and the way it glowed in the twilight, I was reasonably sure it was gold!

It doesn't have a stamp on it that I can see, but I'm almost certain it's gold... it's really heavy for its size, and from its surface I know it's not plated...

Happy!

I can't wait to get back out there and really slow down and dig some more funky signals! I know there's a big, fat class ring out there...

...and sorry for the poor quality picture - camera phone... better photo added

I hope you find more like that there, sounds like a good place.
