Their just cooper plated over zinc John the ones prior to 82 were almost solid cooper.

In certain spots here I've seen acidic soil eat dimes just as bad as those pennies and worse. Some dated in the 1990's. Swiz

I'll post a link to some pics and a recipe for tumbling your coins.


RECIPE

A small Lortone tumbler

A handful of aquarium gravel

White vinegar (just enough to cover the gravel)

A pinch of cream of tarter (1/8 of a teaspoon) and

A squirt of Mean Green (Full Strength)
