Default Finally got out, nice hunt today!

Clear skies and 52 degrees. So dusted off the ole Ace and walked down my street detecting the side walk. First hit nearly had me shaking. 4 inches down a big silver dollar popped out, but alas, it was too light. It is a Memphis Cotton Carnival Token, and on the back it say's "The secret Order of Boll Weavels". The next dig was a solid penny tone at 5 inches, but out pops the best buffalo nickle I've ever dug, a 1937, and yes it has all 4 legs, I checked. I continued on down the walk and dug some modern pennies, a dime and 5 Wheaties. A 1923, 1926, 1928, 1936, and a semi-key date 1912 "S" mint. Started out at $12.00 bucks in good condition in the red book, this one is probably fine or better. Also found a saddle tie, a live 25 cal bullet, and some other odds and ends. I didn't get too far down the street until the misses was calling saying supper was ready. I love my wife!! All in all a very good day for me. The wet ground helped alot, and was easy diggin. Gotta get back out there and get some silver. Thanks for looking and HH.

Great finds rob!!

When you say you walk down the sidewalks and hunt, are you digging peoples yards or the bolevard in which the cities usually own?

Both sides, but only in yards that I have permission. I know everybody on my street, and pretty much have an open invitation. Does you good to get out and be nice to people. It comes back 10 fold. Like helping with ladies picking up sticks in there yard, or moving something heavy. Or going to the next door neighbors house at midnight because they are having chest pain and staying there until the ambulance arrives. Most poeple on my street are elderly, and they know my wife and I are nurses, so we get alot of calls for help. Win win, though I don't do it for myself, it's just a nonintentional perk I guess.

But Even if the city owns the boulevard, don't think you won't get a cussin if you go diggin in it without permission. The poeple who owns the house still maintains the grass and keeps it cared for. So they will get mad if you go diggin up there good hard work.
