Default Research paid off

Ok, folks, here's the real post...

So I haven't quite yet finalized everything with getting to hunt the Hyde Park neighborhood proper, but I decided that hitting the park or a vacant lot wouldn't matter, so off I went... when I got to the park, I noticed a couple of empty lots, and y'all know how I feel about empty lots!

So I get out, gear up, turn on, and start to swing... FIRST SIGNAL - '54 quarter, on the very front part of the yard, near the curb... dude! I was like, oh man am I in trouble now... man was that purty!

Searched some more, in what was the front yard, and started hitting wheats... one signal was kinda big, and knowing where I am, etc., I was diggin everything - wheat... more in the hole!... another wheat (damn)... still more in the hole!... yet another wheat (damn again)... what's that - still more! I pulled at east 5 wheats out of that one spot, but alas, no silver there...

Moved a bit more, and got another good, somewhat weak signal... moved the dirt and BAM - '49 Roosie! Woo hoo!

I continued hunting the rest of the lot, and made my way around the other one adjacent to it, and was finding a few more wheats and a good bit of clad, and eventually made my way back to the spot I started in... it was about time to go, so I did my usual last-gasp dig-a-bunch-of-stuff deal, and BAM...

Beautiful little silver dime, a '42 Mercury... it has been SUCH a long time since I've found any silver coins at all, and man did it feel good!

Not sure what I ended up total-wise (I haven't really been counting my clad, it just goes in the fishbowl for now)... but it was a decent take for a couple of hours, and it was a b-e-a-utiful morning, and I had a great time...

I can't WAIT to start hitting those easements!

Enjoy the pix, and happy hunting!

------------------------

Just a drive-by post here, more later, but I found 3 silver coins this morning, hunting an old lot in Hyde Park where I've been researching... 54 quarter, 49 dime and a 42 dime... bunch of wheats and some clad...

I took pics and stuff... will add them later...
