Default Todays Hunt

I MD'ed an old church site today....didn't turn up a lot...best piece was a bell of an old crank telephone...went across county to a CW encampment I've been working.....found a lot of whatizits...the most interesting are attached....if you can identify any of the I would appreciate it...I think the first pic is an old copper counter of some kind...the 2nd pic looks like it is part of a rifle sling,,the 3rd pic is a rim fire cartridge...the 4th pic is ???? I looked for arrowheadsfor awhile and I found a few, they have be posted already if ya want to see. All in all it was a great day. Thanks for looking!

The pic on the far left is a center of an old lantern. You would have been able to turn the center shaft to adjust the size of the flame. Have found several! Good find!!!

Look on the end of where you turn the shaft. Sometimes they are dated!

Tater....Thanks for the tip....I got the old magnifing glass out and sure-nuff...it said "Pat. 14 Oct 62....I don't know if 1862...1962...I do know there use to be a structure here because I have dug a load of sq. nails...and several items from CW....man I really enjoy this MD'en...It's a blast...thanks for your help!

Good finds! Not completely sure, but pic #2 looks like it might be a crushed barrel band, with a sling loop, from a musket or other firearm. Your rimfire shell casing in pic #3 looks like it may be a Spencer carbine shell (CW vintage, .56 cal.). The lantern mantle date is more likely 1862; by 1962 patent dates weren't so prominently marked on items. I think you're onto a good spot!
