Default Lot's of Clad, But good research day also

Well hunted an old area where there used to be an old middle school where I went as a kid & then a park near by for a total of 3 hours, got 7 Quarters 1 of them Canadian 8 Dimes & 24 pennies nothing old today my first shut out with no silver & or wheat pennies. Had a bunch of little kids following me around & standing so close I had to keep telling them to move back so I could dig. Dug up one penny & a little 4 year old boy holds out his hand & asks can I have it, so I gave it to him he was happy, then all the others wanted them when I dug them up but I said no. I was like the pide piper of detecting.

Now for the exciting research day, stopped at the local town historical society & after a few questions found out about a old fair grounds that dates pre 1871, still need to figure out it's exact location ona current plat map with refference from the 1895 plat map that shows it's location.

The other research I'm really excited about is some people that own farm land near where I grew up have old foundations on them that date back to 1830s where all the Cornish settlers from Cornwall England came & made there homes. Got this lady who has known me since I was a child to take me on a four wheeler back on her property to where the two old foundations are located, I can drive right up to with in 15 yds of them with my van. She showed me where the houses use to stand & then told me there was a barn down in the bottom a couple of hundred yards away & then where the spring is where they got there water from & its still there & running. Then she took me to her mothers & showed me two more places where there were another 2 old foundations back to the same time period & then as I'm taking her home we stop by another place on other land they own & she points out a place out in a field about 50 yds from the road we are on where there are 2 trees & says there used to be a house right there by those trees. So now I have 5 to 6 locations of old sites that date back to 1830s that I can hunt when ever I want. So starting Sat gona go out & do an all day hunt & try to remember everyone's advice when hunting those type of sites, DIG IT ALL!!! O yeah did I mention that the indians use to smelt Lead on their property before the big Black Hawk Indian war that took place in 1832. Geez Wonder Where I'll be detecting for a big part of the summer!!! Wish Me Luck & I'll Let Everyone Know What I Find After Each Hunt. O'yeah almost forgot she also told me they use to find old buttons & an occassional coin in the garden right next to her current house, she said she thinks they use to dump trash & or burn trash there, but she said that only goes back a hundred years, Dang don't you hate having to hunt places that are only a hundred year old, I know Hardly Worth It Right HA HA!!
