Lot's of times when hunting in fields. I may not find a coin, but I'll come home with something. That's why I carry a small flashlight in my bag.

Twice - on beaches no less! I really hate the upper peninsula because when you can't even find a single coin on a beach in the middle of summer something is amiss, like have wayyyyy to much competition

I always toss a cent to an area where I got skunked so the next person won't

Default Nope, there's always hope.

I always find that ever present zinc cent.
I usually stick with it till I can come home with something.
Silver rings are a good find but just wait till you bring home the gold. You will be permanently hooked.
If it has jewels the ever present urge to go hit that park gets worse. Especially if it is an earring, you just know the other one is there somewhere.
Alas the story is almost always the same, just one.

I agree with Buster. It is all about the hunt and the fun of it. (i still like to find the money though), Beale.
I like this tactic ... if you don't want to get skunked, hit a tot lot before heading home and you can say to the hubby "another successful hunt"
