Default Clad log

I'm gonna start posting my clad totals here... I've got a pile of stuff here from a few hunts - totaled $16.91

16 quarters
92 dimes
20 nickles
271 pennies

I'd have a lot more if i didn't spend my quarters on dip

Maybe we could all post our total clad to date here. I will have to get my total soon! I have 1 fruit jar full and starting on another. I have saved all clad since I began detecting.

Exclamation Good work, folks!

I've got no idea where you folks are finding all those coins. I've busted my ass, and only come up with 250 coins, $9.50 for the entire year, let alone a couple of trips or one month's collecting.
I hit hit high traffic areas like recreation parks, baseball fields, soccer fields, playgrounds, and the occasional house site.
Here's a breakdown of coin denomination percentages that I'm recovering for the year to date. The numbers are actually staying fairly steady month to month:

Pennies: 78.0%
Nickels: 4.0%
Dimes: 11.2%
Quarters: 6.8%

I'm curious where you folks are pulling your coins out of, and what the denomination breakdown of your finds is.

Talking

Ok, I added up my coins I have found since Jan. and this is what I have:

Pennies 710 89 wheats
nickles 7
Dimes 123 9 Silver Rosies 6 Mercs
Quarters 53 3 Silver
Half Dollar 1
Foriegn 6

Total 900

$33.50

So since I just started this hobby in Jan. I think I'm doing ok. I hope more silver is in my future!!!! And almost all of this was found in yards here on base!

Tom,

Like AJ said, we are finding most of our coins here on base going through the yards. They are tearing down and rebuilding some of the houses here on base (which were built in the 30's) No one has ever went through these yards before.

Default Thanks for the feedback, Gunny!

And congrats on your location! Digging a place that hasn't been detected before is a big plus... I'll crunch the percentages later.
The wierd thing about where I'm looking is that I'm finding pennies back into the '40's and '50's, in some places on a regular basis, but no silver!
I'd assume that if someone cherry picked these locations for silver and got the larger coins, that at least I'd be picking up the occasional silver dime.. Quite frustrating, but it's a challenge.
Hope you have continued good luck on your finds!

Default I think.......

I think that AJ and Gunny (Gary) are sitting on a gold mine. What an opportunity you guys have with all that base housing. Milk it for all its worth. When you start recovering coins in numbers such as all of you are posting, the law of averages says you'll dig a "good one" now and then just like AJ's half. Keep it up guys....very exciting.

Tom,

There should be silver there as well, your in the right years range by finding pennies in the 40's-50's. Best of luck to you.....
