Default 2 more silver rings

Had an hour and a half this evening... hit my old soccer field... got these 2 nice little rings, ot more than 6" apart! Not sure exactly what the locket is made of - it hit too high to be gold, bit it sure was pretty when i popped the plug up!

Default way to go

From the land of the Bluenose...rings whether they be a gold , silver or kids are still good finds. nice to keep the childrens ones in the pocket and give to enquiring mindswhen they pop by. Also good to remove all metal from a playing field to help prevent injures of which I have got a few on fields....for making bad calls.....strikkkke three your outta here!

Default Ring machine indeed.....

You do have yourself a "ring machine." Whats your total ring count now with that machine?? Nicely done, Robert!!! When you're hot...you're hot!!

Smile Congrats! Ring may have a high silver/copper content.

Hi Robert!

Congrats on your tremendous finds! One thought on why the rings showed up higher than you might expect tone wise.
A lot of American market type rings actually have a very low percentage of gold in them.
14K is only 58.3% gold, while 10K is 41.66%. That means that the other components have to be a different metal or metals, typically copper and silver.
My theory is that the addition of either or both of those metals makes an alloy that will read much higher than pure gold.
I pulled a 10K ring out of the ground last year that gave me a ragged tone with high readings (somewhere between the high 50's to the high 60's, maybe low 70's) just like a crappy copper plated Zink cent.
You can imagine my surprise when I pulled gold out of the ground instead of the the usual unidentifiable corroded cent!

Thanks!

Since I've been keeping records in Feb., I've found 19 pieces of jewelry... 15 rings (2 gold), 2 charms, a silver belt buckle, and a silver bracelet...

It's really nothing more than being where it's at and paying attention... maybe being a little curious, too... anyone here could've found any of the rings and jewelry - just getting out and looking for it is the biggest thing!
