Default 1793 and a few toasties

From the land of the Bluenose....hit the road today with Johnny White Pail and headed to Windsor to do some digging since the rain had let up for a few hours. One of the places we tried was the old house which sits on the site of the original French fort in the area. Found a few things there then hit the field near the old Sangters Inn which produced a lot of older coppers as usual including a 1793 schooner token. Not one of the 7 coins found here newer then 1840. Invited in for a tea by the owner who showed JWP the 70 some odd coppers that I had turned over to her and got a few more notes for my upcoming article on this spot.

After that location it was off to a local park which was still like a swamp where JWP found a large 1882 penny, a 66 a foot silver guild button and I a 1913 dime...Guess the fort photo too large! Darn.

First photo is of the old house built upon the French fort foundation and the second shows some of the finds. Pixs courtesy of JWP.

What do you mean by a Bluenose? I've never heard of that before coming to this forum. I am guessing because it is so cold up there.

Default yo Bobbie re "Bluenose"

From the land of the Bluenose...the Bluenose was a famous schooner that was built in Lunenburg Nova Scotia at the turn of the last century. She is featured on the back of Canadian dimes. Captained by Angus Walters she holds the record for single days catch on the Grand banks and never lost a race.

Default Why?

Why do you have to say it everytime you post? Just curious.
