Default Not sure what it is

I got this today. It was 5 inches down. I cleaned it up and here it is.

You must be hunting near a graveyard.

They are markers for Civil War Vets.
I believe it means Garrison of the American Revolution

IT IS A "GRAND ARMY OF THE REPUBLIC" MEDAL. CIVIL WAR. ISSUED TO A SOLDIER THAT FOUGHT IN THE CIVIL WAR. VERY NICE FIND. WORTH ABOUT $125.00...PAPPY

Pappy, The graveyard at our church is full of them..maybe 200 or so

That is just the neatest thing. Greg, are they just attached to the grave stones? If Pappy says they are worth that much I am surprised they haven't been pried off. About when were they issued?

They are on metal rods Cathy...infact there are a few laying outside our church basement door I won't bother them. Many of our tumbstones are very worn so its hard to see who the vets were.
