Default Spur of the moment hunt

Hi all
Just wanted to share something. Wife and I went out to dinner tonight and decided to go to a park and hunt a few minutes while waiting for our son to get off work.
Well low and behold we found a little something.
A Large copper medal made to commerate the dedication of the new Anthony Wayne Bank building in downtown Fort Wayne. It is only about 42 years old, but it is nice to find something other than clad coins.
The real kicker is we found it with our Wal Mart special Bounty Hunter and not the new Garrett. Man am I really begginng to like that Pioneer 101!

As soon as I get it cleaned up, I will post a picture of the medal.

We also found some clad. This was my first hunt that I tried probing the coins out instead of digging a plug. It worked really well and was a lot less work!

Very nice, glad your starting to lock in on some good targets!

Are them scratches on the medal from your probe?

Yes they are from the probe . This was my first try at probing and I was still trying to determine the feel of metal versus rock. I do believe that I now have the hang of it and shouldn't (God willing) scratch anything else (fingers crossed).
