Relic
I went detecting on Saturday to an old, wooded area. This spot has been a "gold mine" for coins during the years. It has been hunted over the years by my uncles. I guess it is a very old place because my one uncle found an 1859 Seated Liberty half dolllar here in AU-50. Another one of my uncles found an 1864 Two-Cent piece. Many barber dimes, mercury dimes, and indian heads have been found here. Well, to get to my post, my partners and I were hitting this spot again. Just recently I found a 1902 Indian Head and my brother and uncle found one too, an 1889 and a 1898. While on Saturday, I detected for about 3 hours. I found no coins. I guess this area is "drained" now. But, I did find an old belt buckle in a near-by creek in the area. It has to be from the early 1900's. It read 64 on my VDI, so you know how hard my heart was beating at that time, LOL. I'm happy with the find, though.
