Default Mission: Code named "100 coins"

From the land of the Bluenose.....well ball season is over for this bouy...at least in front of the plate. Good game which saw us down 2 runs in the bottom of the ninth. Went 4 for 6 for the evening but stepped up to the plate with a man on 2nd and 1st with one out and hit into a game ending double play. Guess thats why they pay me the big bucks but at least the beer after the game was free. Umping 14 games this weekend so I'll still be in the game.

Waking up the next morning with the "Bells of St. Mary's" chimming in my head I decided it was time for a mission. No mere quest for a dinkie this time . Set my sights high .....a 100 coin day! This type of mission required both Garretts which I promptly installed new Energizer batteries in. After much deliberation the starting point would be where the Waverly Gold Rush Days festival had just wrapped up.

Upon arrival it wasn't hard to tell where the booths had been set up as evident by the out lines in the grass. Even before turning on the Garrett I eyeballed a few coins. Digging was fairly easy and it wasn't long before I hit the 50 coin mark with a few oddities thrown in which included 3 India coins, a toasty large cent,1939 1 peso from Chile, a superball, 2 fishing weights,a zipper and my favourite.....a Molson Canadian beer cap made into a pendent. After finding all those foreign coins thought I might have hit the wrong field and ended up on the one hosting the Multicultural Festival. The heat was getting to this bouy who had easily sweated out a six pack so it was time to pursue this mission on an aquatic level.

Water was calm, clear and duck free as I entered with my first find again being of the eyeball variety for waist deep at the bottom was "Plastic Man" doing his imatation of a deep six. Finds were somewhat scarce and ended up with 20 some odd coins and a cute little silver ring as well as a figurine of a stormtrooper from "Star Wars." Exhausted (and extremely hung over) I called it quits not having reached my objective. Good thing this screen will not self destruct in 5 seconds like me. 73 coins or 77 counting the 4 foreign. Oh well quess I'll have to wait for the sequeal, "Mission Improbable 2."

Photo 1 is the swishing spot and 2 of the loot.

Hi Leslie!

OK on the ball season being just about over. We're rapidly slipping into a Fall weather pattern here in SW WA state. Lots of overcast skies, and the drizzle is coming back.
We're besieged with local festivals here: The Egg Days (Winlock), The Cheeze Festival (Toledo), and The Garlic Festival (Chehalis/Centralia).
I hit the Egg Days site right after the Carnies pulled out. Had a couple of visual finds, then cleaned up several lost tokens (can always use them next year!), and recoverd a fair amount of lost coinage.
I did exactly what you did: Saw where the booths were, and hit the areas around them heavily.
That paid off, and got my best finds that way.
Looking forward to paying a local construction scrape a visit over the weekend.

HH! -Tom
