Default "Swinging in the Rain" leds to missing link photo

From the land of the Bluenose...no it wasn't Gene kelly but this bouy out in Waverly swinging the green machine. Having had my six umping gigs cancelled due to the hurricane that our neighbours to the south were sending our way thought it would be a good chance to test out the new rain suit that I had recieved at Christmas. Thought that I'd try the Waverly area again as it was close and more importantly...had a Tim's on the way. After fueling Goquickski up at $1.13 per liter and $1.40 at Tim's for my jet fuel it was off to the field.
Upon arrival all the parking spots were filled as a wedding was taking place at the fire hall which meant that I had to park across the road at the service center. Rain was coming down at a good clip and I immediately set to work a "beeping" as Makinholes calls it. First three targets were pennies with the fourth a nice Sterling silver St. Christopher medal who would have to preserve this bouy if the water in the Shubie Canal got any higher! A few more pennies then I found what every scientist on this planet has been looking for...the "missing link" although this one was brass making a DNA trace a tad hard to say the least.
At about this time I noticed that a group was periodically gathering at the far end of the firehall under an umbrella smoking.....ummm wonder what. This bouy who has never touched the stuff would without a doubt try it if marriage number six ever surfaces...Lord love a duck!
Rain started coming down so hard that I was starting to lose sight of my coil. Rain suit was keeping me dry....got to try the coat with the pants next time as I was soaked above the waist having worn my digging uniform .....old military combat coat I had traded an MP for many moons ago. Kind of thinking in retrospect that the wet suit would have been a better choice as I felt like I was swishing not a digging. Anyway my next to the last find was a Sous token from about 1850 (rather toasty and no date) my first ever. Got balls too....two of them which makes 3 from here.
End result from the day was a 1964 silver dime, the Sous, silver St Chris mdeal, the "missing link", a tee, two balls (thank God) and 40 coins @ $1.31.
Was thinking I'd get the 3rd degree when I came home but Marie just said, "I see my little bouy has been playing in the rain." Of course I'd given her credit card to go shopping earlier! Opening the fridge there was Bud and 11 of his relatives waiting to socialize!

Not bad and you've had better outings but at least your friends were waiting for you when you got home
