Default this morning's hunt with the Boss Man

Well.....Gregory came over this morning and I took him to the place where those 2 Indians held that seated lady captive for all those years, and while I am not sure of all Greg found, I found the following stuff....besides the usual crapola.

Wheats....1916-s, 1930, 1936, 1940, 1944, 1945, 1946, 1951, 1955
Silver....yeah...a slicked off standing liberty quarter. The first SL I've found, just too bad it's got no numismatic value whatsoever...more for the scrap bin.

Found a V-nickel.....looks like maybe 1907...bad shape

Also found 5 recent clad dimes and a clad quarter.

1 1950's lipstick tube, and a base metal stick pin of similar vintage, 40's or 50's.

A fun morning's hunt though....and 3 silver coins in as many days...

You'll certainly be welcome, Boobie.

I'm still working on getting more places lined up where we'll be allowed to hunt. This was a rip-roarin' place in the 40's and 50's.....so there are lots of things left to find....it's just that most of it is on private property these days. I have found people to be most accomodating though, and while I haven't asked in that many places....I've not been turned down yet. I opened up about 6 acres this past week. I have 2 places in mind...that I know are circa 1890 that I should have access to soon.

Hello,

Well as poorly as I've been feeling the last two days I felt like a million bucks today when I pulled my metal detector from it's case

As I pulled up into Wyatts drive way he was waiting on his porch as I was late again :(
The look in his eye told me that we were heading for a hot spot.
I was pleased when we arrived, the two story home looked to be mid to late 1800's and the lawn was nice for detecting.

Below are my finds for the morning.

Wheats:
1941
1939
1944
1934

Neat token
and a few roosies along with a 68-d memorial Lincoln

The pocket watch was a surprise Find! It said "Coin" inside so that may mean coin silver.

I was basically shooting in coin mode and was discriminating out the nickel and the Lincoln cent 1982 and up.

Thanks again Wyatt for a fun time out!
Holler when you want to go again.

Greg

Hey Greg........I hadn't looked closely at the watch....it's a key wind...so that's an old puppy indeed. I got to thinking about the color of the case....and it doesn't surprise me that it's coin silver....it looks like it. There was no green corrosion that would have been there had it been nickel silver.

We'll go again when you get to feeling a bit better. I'll probably go and check on another farmhouse tomorrow....maybe both of them. Just happened to think...just this minute. The guy who owns one of these farms....also has his mom's house down the road a short distance from him...so there's perhaps 3 more places I can see if it would be allowable to hunt.

Had a great time....we'll do it again. Glad you scored some silver....and a nice chunk of it at that!

Hey there Mr Silver......you're welcome to come and hunt sometime. Weekends are best for me. Hope your health gets straightened out so you can get out. We have to rescue those seated ladies from those indians. It's our moral duty as good citizens.

I might enjoy an outing at Midland Park sometime. I know that area relatively well, having worked at Beaver Valley Mall for 12 years.
