Default had to "watch" the time on a 100 plus coin day

From the land of the Bluenose.....after swinging all day on Saturday at the annual East Coast Big Dig and finding less than a handful of coins I was desperate to hear that familiar bell tone that signals a coin underneath the old Garrett.
The boss had given me a 3 1/2 hour window of opportunity to dig my brain out before I was due to meet her in mortal combat on the tennis court. To me 3 hours is just getting into the swing of it so I choose a local school that was close so as to not put a big dent in my swing time. This particular school and field had been hammered by the Bardman so I automatically knew that it was a penny parade affair which was true to fact as my first 18 targets were coppers. Streak was interrupted by a watch that took a licking and wasn't ticking. That just reminded me of the deadline looming! The next non penny find came after a string of a mere 8 pennies in the form of a loonie...missed that one Bardman!
Heard a sorry excuse for a bark from behind me on the soccer field and turned to see what appeared to be a legless mobile hot dog. Lord love a duck my brother Rick's bull mastiff has bowel movements bigger than this sorry excuse for a mutt. This creature continued to bark as the owner approached stating that her dog would not bite. The lady bent over to retrieve her k9 and I noticed another nice pair of puppies............um good thing Marie was not around! After a brief conversation she left and I continued a digging even though the nice day just seemed to get a tad hotter.
Pennies and the odd silver continued till my allotted time had just about run out. It wasn't till I got home and emptied my pocket that I realized I might have had a 100 coin day having lost count when the "puppies" were around.
In my weakened state from digging so many holes Marie showed little mercy on the court making me run from side to side and back and forth so much I wore my legs down and then I had to "bum around" the court! At least the long hot shower after wards relaxed me and removed the skunky smell I had adopted on the court. Totals for the day were102 coins@ $7.39, a bridge token, watch and a zipper tag for a Starter parka.

Hi Leslie!

Don't feel bad! I was at a local park a couple two or three weeks ago, and found a place I have named the "Plain of Pennies".
Found 52 coins that day, 50 of which were pennies. The other two were an odd nickle and dime.
Congrats on 100 coins! A "good" day for me is 50 coins.

HH! -Tom
