Default Holy Ravioli Batman....I've had this for a decade..or more

I was just ogling my modest collection of stuff.....I keep it in a small cookie tin. I had my 3 seated dimes out and decided to look at those again......My 1885 has an "S" mintmark......It's in AG condition, especially the reverse, but with the loupe....that mintmark is definitely there!

Imagine that..it's laid here for 14 years without my reallizing that it was a rare booger indeed....just over 43 thousand minted....and THE key to the series. Hey Pete....They'd probably throw me out for posting this one at "the other forum"....because it's so unlikely, but if anyone doubts it....I'll show it to Greg....he can verify it.

There was only one mint marked dime in 1885...that of San Francisco, so while it's not necessarily a clear "S"....it's clear that it had a mintmark....and that would have to have been an "S".

YeeHaw!!!

If I was a in the mood to be a S**T stirrer...I'd do it just for fun....to see if they'd have the same reaction.

I'm still in shock. I found this across the street from a church in Carmichaels Pa in about 1990 or 1991. I never looked at it with a loupe until just tonight.

oops, my bad.....it's not "the" key....but it's certainly one of them. For the "series 4 resumed" 1875-1891....it's the toughest one.
